::ROCC History
The vision for the ROCC began in its infancy when 29 members of the Seymour Church of the Nazarene took a Work and Witness trip to Gautier, Mississippi. Through the leadership of Delilah and Greg Johnson, our missionary leaders, we found a hurting and needy people two years after Hurricane Katrina. After the trip came to an end, we had a burning desire to do more in our own region, and through much prayer and a vision of the Lord, our desires have become reality through the ministry of the ROCC.
In 2008, the ROCC board was developed, as was the corporation, as well as, the 501(c)3 completed. God's vision is now reality with the ROCC (Regional Outreach Christian Center) opening its doors so as to reach a lost and dying world.
And now today, serving several communities through Compassion and a Compassionate Ministry Center, we can provide practical and spiritual needs that fill our neighbors, families and friends like never before through this Christ-centered ministry. Compassionate ministry centers are not found in small towns such as Seymour, and are usually only located in larger cities. We feel we are so blessed to have the ROCC here in this region of the state; a very unique ministry that can touch many hundreds of lives each year in a very powerful way.
