::Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Center
The ROCC is an official Compassionate Ministry Center through the International Church of the Nazarene [www.nazarene.org]. The primary mission of the ROCC is to provide a compassionate, Christ-centered ministry to the practical and spiritual needs of our local communities. Part of living Christ’s compassion is learning about those who suffer around us daily, and how we can share those burdens together. Our purpose through the ROCC is to mobilize our neighborhoods in compassion through prayer, education, giving and interactive experiences, with our ultimate goal of winning people to the Kingdom of God.
Compassionate ministry centers are not found in small towns such as Seymour, and are usually only located in larger cities, such as Kansas City and St. Louis. We feel we are so blessed to have the ROCC here in this region of the state; a very unique ministry that can touch many hundreds of lives in a very powerful way, especially since Webster County is one of the most poverished counties in the state of Missouri.
We feel the ROCC is investments in the hope and future that Jesus offers the poor and suffering in our own neighborhoods right here where we live. Compassionate living is a mandate and we are living that out daily through the ministry of the ROCC. Christ calls us to live compassionately. Compassion is an essential element of Christlikeness. Christ took to heart the wants, hurts, and fears of humanity. It is this very example set by Christ that we are asked to imitate. We are called to be Christ to the communities we live in. We are called to listen and respond to the wants, hurts, and fears of our communities and reach out to the people at their point of need. As we engage in compassionate ministries at the ROCC, this allows us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to needy communities. When we respond to others from their expressed point of need, we show that we care about the things they care about. We share in their experiences and minister with, rather than to them.
One of our newest additions to the ministry is a small clothes closet and food pantry in order to assist families with immediate needs that affect their livelihood.
Please take time to learn about your brothers and sisters in your neighborhood and how we, together, can respond to suffering with the love and compassion of our Lord. One of our goals through the ROCC is to change our neighborhoods through compassion, one life at a time.
Donations to the ROCC, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation, are investments in the hope and future that Jesus offers the poor and suffering in our very neighborhoods. Your gifts help weave compassion into the fabric around each of our surrounding communities. All donations made to this compassionate ministry are tax deductible.
Can you help out in any way through a donation or even volunteering?
